Senior Caregivers Available this Summer in Hollywood

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

Take this holiday as a time to enjoy with your family and remember how our founding fathers fought for the independence and freedom of this country. Not only is this a time for backyard BBQs and fireworks, but it's also a good time to reflect on what freedom and independence can mean for people. For adolescents, this usually means more free time to spend with friends without facing the repercussions of a lecture. But for elderly seniors, it means much more. With freedom and independence, elderly seniors can live as they please around their home, abide by their own schedule instead of their children's schedule and live without fear of being left alone.

As obvious, just a little bit of independence goes a long way. So why not give your elderly senior family members the independence that they deserve. With caregivers in the home to watch over them, seniors can do as they please and have the supervision of a qualified senior home health aid. No longer would they need to fear being left alone. Not only that, we guarantee that our caregivers will make them feel protected and cared for. With 2 years of previous caregiver service, our senior caregivers can administer non medical elder care, including Incontinence Care, 24 Hour Care and Overnight Care.

This month is American Heart Month!

Did you know that this month, medical professionals are celebrating American Heart Month? In honor if this, A-1 Home Care offers some interesting heart related facts.
When it comes to matters of the heart, men and women definitely aren’t created equal. For instance, a man’s heart weighs about 10 ounces, while a woman’s heart weighs approximately 8 ounces.
Not only is a woman’s heart smaller than a man’s, but the signs that it’s in trouble are a lot less obvious. When women have a heart attack -- and more than a half million do each year -- they’re more likely to have nausea, indigestion, and shoulder aches rather than the hallmark chest pain.
Heart disease is the biggest killer of both men and women. And both genders should heed this healthy advice: Don’t smoke, keep your blood pressure and cholesterol levels in check, and watch for the obvious and the more subtle warning signs your heart could be in trouble.

Many people say that music is the most immediate form of expression.

For those with Alzheimer, music can be a godsend. Those who don't have readily available access to their memories, Music highlights many significant moments in life. During birthday celebrations people sing around candlelit cake, they hug as they watch couples sway to their “first dance” and during the holidays a familiar carol can all but melt our hearts. These are simple snapshots of how music can draw out reminders for seniors, of days gone by.

Here are a few ways one can engage a loved one or friend through music:
